How To – Outlook

 

Add category color to certain emails

 

1. Open Outlook app

 

2. From Home Tab select Categorize

 

 

 

3. Select all categories

 

 

 

4. Create new category by clicking New

 


5. Create the preferred name for the category and choose the color then click OK



6. Click OK on Color Categories

 

7. To use the Category, go to File > Manage Rules & Alerts



8. On Rules and Alerts Click on New Rule



9. On Rules Wizard window, select Start from a blank rule then select “Apply rule on messages I receive”, Then click next.



10. On step 1 of Which condition (s) do you want to check. Select “with specific words in the sender’s address”.

 




11. On step 2 : Edit the rule description. Click on the specific words blue colored text.



12. Specify word or phrase with sender email address. Click add then click OK



13. Once rule created, click next to go to next step.



14. On step 1, Click on “assign it to the category category”



15. On step 2, click on the category



16.Select the previously created category by clicking the checkmark, Then click OK.



17. Back on Select action window when the additional rule has been created click Finish.



18. each new email from the selected sender address will have specific color to differentiate
